We need a Senior Python Developer to own our OCR pipeline and ML-adjacent backend services. Our document verification runs on Python with docling VLM for OCR, InsightFace for face matching, and River queue for job orchestration — all running on GPU infrastructure.

What You'll Do
- Own and optimize our document OCR pipeline built on docling VLM and Python
- Build and maintain face matching services using InsightFace and 512-dim embedding comparison
- Design efficient GPU-bound worker processes for real-time document and face processing
- Implement anti-spoofing checks and document authenticity validation
- Optimize model inference latency and throughput on GPU instances
- Collaborate with ML engineers on model deployment and integration with the Go API via River queue
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of professional Python development
- Production experience with computer vision libraries (OpenCV, InsightFace, or similar)
- Strong understanding of async Python, multiprocessing, and GPU-bound workloads
- Experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow model serving and ONNX export
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL, Redis, and message/job queue systems
- Track record of building reliable, observable production services
Nice to Have
- Experience with document OCR (docling, Tesseract, or similar VLM-based approaches)
- Background in identity verification, KYC, or biometric systems
- Familiarity with FastAPI or similar async Python web frameworks
